Planning Ahead with 3D Technology
As construction methods become more complex, virtual strategies have become more imperative in project coordination. With the help of technology, project construction can reach a higher level of understanding and collaboration, both in-house and between trades. Virtual methods can reduce waste, maximize effort, minimize changes, increase safety and improve budget management.
In sync with the design team and other project subcontractors, we often develop our electrical construction in a 3D project model created with advanced programs from the Autodesk Suite, including Revit and Navisworks. We share the model with other trades before construction to identify conflicts and provide a communicative building experience.
All members of the project team have access to 3D viewing, whether they’re in office or on site. Through this process, we stay informed on the other disciplines’ requirements to achieve a greater level of cohesiveness during component fabrication. With Total Station Technology, we accurately translate design data to layout systems on-site.

By effectively leveraging BIM, we can increase collaboration with other trades before boots hit the ground. This increased pre-planning and communication early in the project reduces waste while creating efficient project delivery.
